My extensive sales, management, business, and negotiation experience provides her with the background and tools necessary to provide my Real Estate clients with exceptional service and representation. I have been a resident of Durango for 3 years. I have lived in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hong Kong and San Diego and attended the University of California in San Diego, where I completed extensive coursework in Business and Psychology. My professional career primarily involved sales and marketing in the retail sector for twenty years. I have held a number of executive positions, which involved space and location, packaging, marketing, placement, and buying.
The management positions allowed me to tap my natural leadership abilities. I led large departments with a large number of employees and had a reputation as a shrewd negotiator. My ability to get high levels of performance from her subordinates was definitely a plus with negotiations; every member of my teams shared my commitment to high levels of customer service and satisfaction. My belief that the customer needs came first, my ability to resolve contentious disputes, and skills negotiating complicated transactions earned me a high level of respect and confidence among my superiors, subordinates, customers and adversaries. In fact, often, I was hired to perform consulting services by some of the firms and persons who had been involved with me in past negotiations or associations.
Throughout the years, I have bought and sold a number of personal properties and real estate investments. I found the real estate buying and selling process uncomfortable, unpredictable and unpleasant. I was disappointed in the level of experience, professionalism, business sense, and negotiating skills of the real estate agents that were supposedly representing my interests. In a number of cases, she took control of the negotiations to protect my interests. This is the primary reason I became involved in the Real Estate business. I found I wanted to be there guiding both buyers and sellers, and becoming more of a coach than a "salesperson". Most people have a hard time believing that I really believe "money is not the reason I got into this business". It is all about the client, their families and their future in their new home, that makes it all worth while for me.
